Although sometimes he's a little too up-tight and tends towards government solutions, Robert Reich voiced a perspective which with I agree today on marketplace (podcast link: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=129950576&s=143441). I too, support fair free trade.

Trade limits should exist to even the quality of life competition between producing societies. Trading societies should protect the quality of life of their domestic citizens by limiting imports from countries with lower standards for their own citizens. Trading societies should match human rights, including labor organization and environmental protections. An importing country should be free to lmit trade with countries who do not encourage the development of reasonable standards for their people.
