Certain Justice

Is the death penalty a good solution to the brutal reign of a dictator in a conflict where there are already too many acts on both sides that may be deemed worthy of revenge?

Saddam Hussein's execution is a terrible attempt to end a terrible period of Iraqi history. Why not keep him around so more can be reminded of his history and what a dictator can put a people through?
